PEFC Alliance has officially endorsed the national forest certification systems of Türkiye, Lithuania, and Croatia. This achievement marks a significant step forward in promoting sustainable forest management across these countries and opens new opportunities for forests, smallholders, and the timber industry to benefit from PEFC-certified practices.
Highlights of the Endorsement:
Lithuania: The new certification system provides forest owners—especially small-scale owners—with an additional approach for sustainable forest management, helping support local livelihoods.
Türkiye: The PEFC endorsement will facilitate the marketing and export of forest-based products, making it easier for Turkish producers to access new markets both domestically and internationally.
Croatia: As part of the Balkan Regional System, Croatia’s newly endorsed standard will enable small forest owners to obtain certification and sell certified timber, fostering responsible forest management and economic growth.
